Economics of Medical Activities: Urgent Issues in Traumatology

Back to the program 22 June 14:45 — 16:15 Conference hall №3

In November 2022, the State Duma of the Russian Federation approved the federal budget for 2023. The government has allocated 1.452 trillion rubles for health care, which is about 15% above the last year’s figure (1.235 trillion rubles). This trend is expected to balance the access to financial resources for both public and private medical institutions, as well as for manufacturers of medical devices and equipment. However, the question remains open as to what percentage of this amount is allocated for the development of the trauma and orthopedic industry. What is the minimum level of state support as seen by the medical community and manufacturers? What areas of the industry need to be funded on top priority basis? How can a healthy competitive environment be established between medical institutions?

Issues to be discussed:

1.              Funding challenges for the trauma and orthopedic industry in 2023

2.              Availability of federal CMI quotas for private clinics: pros and cons

3.              Developing competitive environment for medical institutions.
